Next step: School partnership – IHK (German Chamber of Industry and Commerce)

Grenzebach and the secondary school in Rain a. Lech intensify their collaboration.

“What does computer science in school have to do with my future career path?” Or: “What does a technical product designer do?” Students at the secondary school in Rain a. Lech receive answers to these questions from employees at Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH in Hamlar. Since 2016 the school and Company have been working together and now officially established a CCI school partnership. "Our students and teachers appreciate the versatile insights into Grenzebach. We are looking forward to strengthen our cooperation with the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce", says Gerhard Härpfer, Head of the Rain a. Lech secondary school.

Awards for MINT competition winners

Starting 2019, Grenzebach will award prizes for outstanding results in the scientific MINT disciplines (e.g. mathematics, computer science, general sciences and technology).  Furthermore, students in the computer science intensive course will learn how to apply their knowledge in the industry later on. Renato Luck, CEO of Grenzebach says: "The partnership with the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce is a clear signal for a long-term and sustainable cooperation. From automated guided vehicles for intralogistics to digital remote maintenance for glass production – students receive insights into different industries while we enjoy getting to know our future apprentices."

Strong for Schwaben in Germany

Over the last years and months Grenzebach and the Rain secondary school have started many initiatives, for instance, students have access to job application training and the M+E info truck that frequently stops at Grenzebach to talk about the different professions in the metal and electrical industry. Dr. Jürgen Korschinsky at the IHK Schwaben: "We really appreciate Grenzebach’s involvement contributing to an early professional orientation for the students in the Donau-Ries area and establishing perspectives for the German Schwaben area."

School partnership duo

Grenzebach’s commitment doesn’t end there; The Company also collaborates with the Heilig Kreuz secondary school in Donauwörth. For this partnership, the Wilhelm-Hübsch award by the IHK Schwaben was presented in spring 2018.
