As a glass manufacturer, a stable production process is more important than ever these days. Grenzebach’s inspection and measurement procedures stand for advanced control methods and top product quality.
The following aspects are measured in real time:
The data captured are fed back into the production process. They help spot departures from processes at an early stage and trend analyses of recurring problems reduce losses. The production process is fully transparent and full complete product analysis is possible.
Example number one: Ribbon thickness is measured directly at the beginning of the annealing lehr to allow a faster response should production differ from the thickness tolerances permitted.
Example number two: At the cold end, Grenzebach measures the glass ribbon’s stress profile, in other words, the stresses that occur within the glass along a measurement line across the glass ribbon, which generate during the cooling process. Thanks to Grenzebach’s SERICY IIoT platform, the settings in the annealing lehr can be changed in order to reduce stress peaks.
If an item of glass in a high-rise facade needs replacing, then product traceability is invaluable. All the information and data generated along the value chain can be captured and used.
Construction and commissioning of a new glass production line is only the first stage in a good customer relationship. Professional service in daily operation is just as important: We want your investment to be profitable without any interruption – that’s why our engineers are there for you with guidance and support over the entire life cycle of the plant.
