At the event in Newnan, USA, the focus is on future technologies for the manufacturing industry - and networking combined with an entertaining program.
Blockchain and booster, pretzels and brats, brass music and beer: during the Automationfest at Grenzebach in Newnan, the 200 visitors enjoyed a mix of top-class technical information on future technologies as well as culinary and musical delights. Starting as early as 8:30 in the morning, 14 exhibitors offered seminars and workshops on all facets of digitalization. Grenzebach customers and partners learned about VR applications in the Factory of the Future as well as digital security of machines and intralogistics solutions of tomorrow. The Grenzebach Digital GmbH offered interesting insights into the IIoT platform SERICY, which was developed in-house. SERICY makes digital added values tangible. “It was very important to us to expand the seminar and workshop range for our visitors during this 3rd Automationfest. Personal interactions with customers and partners, maintaining and a strong international network continue to be critical, particularly in times of digitalization. We wanted to make this very clear, once again, at our event,” said John Fluker, CEO and President of Grenzebach Corporation in Newnan.
Premiere with Georgia Manufacturing Alliance
Debut at this year’s Automationfest: 30 members of the Georgia Manufacturing Alliance visited Grenzebach in Newnan. During a shop tour they were able to take a peek behind the scenes and joined some of the seminars afterwards.
Best infotainment followed by festivities in mimicked Oktoberfest tent
The traditional Oktoberfest attire with Dirndls and Lederhosen was well represented. Starting with breakfast, typical Bavarian dishes were served throughout the day. The Mountain Top Polka Band created the perfect Oktoberfestzelt atmosphere, the local Abide Brewing Company impressed with beer specialties and together with brats, pretzels, schnitzel, potato salad and apple strudel there was something for every taste. “The atmosphere at Automationfest was again excellent. Our US team did an outstanding job at organizing this event that offered experts from different branches and countries the opportunity to discuss the demands for industry 4.0. And in the Oktoberfest tent there was still time to exchange a few private words,” says Renato Luck, CEO of the Grenzebach Group, summing up his impressions.
Over 30 years in Newnan
The Automationfest is now traditionally held as part of the GlassBuild trade show in Atlanta, Georgia. Grenzebach has been in the Atlanta area for over 30 years and Newnan was the first international branch of the company with Bavarian roots. The US team with 100 employees is well connected globally and accounts for around 60 percent of sales in the glass industry.
