HAMLAR/Germany. At the beginning of the new year, the Grenzebach Group is reorganizing its structure: As of January 1, 2026, the Additive Manufacturing and Friction Stir Welding business fields operate as independent companies. With this step, Grenzebach is strategically strengthening two future-oriented growth fields and investing in even greater flexibility and speed to respond to market and customer needs.

Clear Structures for Further Growth

The Additive Manufacturing and Friction Stir Welding business fields are among the strategically essential growth fields of the globally active Grenzebach Group. According to Steven Althaus, CEO Grenzebach Group, establishing them as independent companies is a logical next step: “Both areas have proven their growth potential over the past year. Additive Manufacturing recorded growth of almost 20 percent, and Friction Stir Welding successfully continued its strong performance of previous years. With the new organizational structure, we are creating the foundation to expand this momentum further and support our customers even more effectively.”

With their independent setup, both business units can sharpen their technological expertise, accelerate decision-making processes, and align their offerings more closely with the specific needs of their respective markets.

New Companies with Clear Responsibilities

The new companies operate under the names Grenzebach Additive Solutions GmbH and Grenzebach Friction Stir Welding GmbH. Both are organizationally located under the umbrella of Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH, the headquarters of the Grenzebach Group.

Dirk Burmann (right), SVP Finance & Administration, will assume the interim management of Grenzebach Additive Solutions GmbH.

Hamlar Remains Home to the New Companies

The reorganization does not affect the site or the existing personnel structure. Both new companies will continue to be based in Hamlar. The established teams will also continue to operate within their existing structures for the respective business units.

Thus, Hamlar remains the heart of operations: design, development, and production will continue to take place here—and from here, the growth fields Additive Manufacturing and Friction Stir Welding will be further advanced.
