BAD HERSFELD/Germany. At SOLIDS Dortmund, taking place March 18–19, 2026, Grenzebach (Hall 5, Booth 5-P26) will present technical solutions for processing powders and bulk materials—from compacting and grinding to digital quality inspection. Rising logistics costs, limited storage space, and increasing demands for process reliability are driving the need for more efficient processing technologies. Against this backdrop, Grenzebach will showcase integrated solutions that combine material efficiency, throughput, and quality inspection in a holistic approach.

Efficient Systems for Powder and Bulk Material Processing

At its booth, Grenzebach will highlight selected technologies covering various process steps: the VACUPRESS for reducing the volume of fine powders, the whirlwind mill for fine and ultrafine grinding without screen technology, and real-time quality inspection.

Grenzebach showcases Vacupress at SOLIDS

The VACUPRESS technology reduces storage and transport volume for fine powders such as carbon black, silica, or talc using a vacuum-based compaction process. The system achieves volume reductions of up to 75 % while increasing bulk density. For example, packaging time per 25‑liter bag can be reduced from more than two minutes to just 6–9 seconds.

The whirlwind mill enables fine and ultrafine grinding without screens, preventing blockages and reducing maintenance needs. The grinding intensity can be adjusted flexibly. The system achieves throughputs of up to 20,000 kg/h and can be integrated into new or existing production lines.

Grenzebach showcases ROSI

For inline monitoring of powder and bulk material processes, Grenzebach offers powerful optical inspection systems:

  • CIAS performs color value analysis, detects contaminants, and determines purity levels using camera and spectrometer systems.
  • ROSI (Real-Time Optical Surface Inspection) is an AI-powered system for real-time surface inspection. It can be configured without programming knowledge and, due to its modular software packages, can extend its range of applications to include bulk solids and powders.

“Rising costs and increasing quality requirements call for holistic solutions along the entire process chain,” says Michael Meyer, Director Process Technology Grenzebach BSH. “Our goal is to rethink process engineering and support companies in sustainably optimizing volume, throughput, and quality inspection with our technologies.”

Technology Center in Bad Hersfeld: Testing Under Real Conditions

At the company’s in-house technology center in Bad Hersfeld, Germany (over 400 m²), materials can be tested under practical conditions. Customers can request free feasibility tests based on their own materials. Test appointments can already be scheduled ahead of the trade fair.
