Starting out with seven employees: Starting out with seven employees: In 1960, Rudolf Grenzebach establishes the Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH in the small town of Hamlar in Bavaria, Germany. Back in 1962 the company develops transport and handling systems for large milk and cheese dairies. In 1965 Grenzebach starts manufacturing for the chipboard industry following the 1960s boom in the furniture business.

Première: In 1974 Grenzebach starts developing the world's first further processing system for the float glass manufacturing process.

Across the pond: In 1988, Grenzebach Corporation in Newnan, Georgia, the first US subsidiary, opens its doors. Right from the start, the company designs and manufactures in this location. Only 10 years later, in 1998, Grenzebach decides to enter the Asian market opening its first Chinese subsidiary where in 2001 the company builds a manufacturing plant.

Expansion: In 2002, Grenzebach takes over Babcock BSH in Bad Hersfeld, Germany. Grenzebach BSH GmbH now focusses their skills and know-how on the building material sector.

Grenzebach remains owner-managed: Since 2014 Sonja Grenzebach-Proeller is the main shareholder of the Grenzebach Group. The daughter of the company founder feels strongly about a consistent development of the business.
