Genesys - Generic Offloading System
This innovation project which is supported by the German Ministry for Education and Research shall serve to achieve higher levels of automation in production and material flow logistics. Focus is on the off-loading of goods, especially in applications where these goods are complex in shape or off-loading might be hindered by the load units used or by sticking or clamping of the goods.
Manual off-loading processes, especially if goods with higher weight have to be moved, impose large physical strain on the workers. So, aside of efficiency increase, as well the ergonomic improvement of the work environment is a goal of this development.
The technical solution is based on a combination of different technologies as robotics, sensor and vision technology, controls and mechatronics.
The applications seen are in production (internal logistics) and in logistics (warehouse distribution, parcel and baggage handling)
