Baggage Offloading

Designed for load-units weighing up to 2000 kg, the world’s first Baggage-Cart-Offloader is able to unload up to 40 bags within about two minutes automatically, without heavy and health-hazardous physical work.
Once the cart is positioned onto the platform, the equipment is tilted to 35°and the load-unit is lifted along a moving belt. The bags now slide out of the cart layer by layer, are separated and are delivered either directly to the passenger reclaim area or to the in-feed of the baggage handling system.
The system can easily be adapted to different cart types and process-integration demands, such as simultaneous handling of several carts.
Also for robot-based offloading, important first achievements have been realized in a research project in cooperation with the University of Karlsruhe, ifm and KUKA (with support of the German ministry for education & research BMBF).
